Defining Moment at the Praha Hotel & Bar

Late this afternoon I was passing out posters for our April sermon series “Defining Moments.” While in East Tarentum I stopped in at the Praha Hotel & Bar. They always promote any events we have.

A man at the bar asked if I was from the church in the boxing gym. He went on to say “There is always a lot going on down there. Last Saturday you had something for the kids, didn’t you? You guys are doing really good things for this community!” I introduced myself, thanked him for his comments & invited him to church.

Boy, oh Boy, you never know who is watching!!!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

BPC Easter Bash & Egg Hunt 2009

Last Saturday March 28th BPC held it’s very first annual Easter Bash & Egg Hunt! Over 130 parents & children attended!! The James 5:16 Center was packed with games, a coloring contest, Easter egg dying, and food…all FREE. In the Jr. Church room kids hunted for over 250 eggs stuffed with candy!!

Francie and I met and talked with a number of people from the community who expressed their appreciation to BPC for hosting the event. I also had an opportunity to pray with a young lady whose sister was battling cancer. She came up to me saying, “Can I talk to you about my sister?” She then explained that things didn’t look too good. I put my arm around her & we called out to God together for her sister who was in a hospital intensive care unit. She thanked me and I told her that I would continue to pray for her sister.

The Bible is clear…Jesus met people where they were. Whether on the streets or in their homes. He first met their felt needs and then connected them to His Father! That’s what BridgePoint Church is all about…“Connecting Real People to the Real God”!!

Thanks to everyone who donated eggs and candy as well as giving of your time, talents & resources!! A lot of “Connecting” was happening at BPC on Saturday!

Spiritual BreakThrough weekend at BPC

This past weekend 13 people attended BPC’s very first Spiritual BreakThrough event!

The purpose of the SBT weekend is to assist every believer in taking the first few steps towards becoming free from the bondages that hold them back from reaching their full potential in Christ. P. Jeff wrote this incredible teaching a number of years ago & it’s still very relevant, applicable, & effective today. I mean…Truth built on God’s word never changes!

After each session you could just see the “light bulbs” going off. Many commented on how the teachings impacted their view of God, themselves and others. “This is just Awesome!” “It really gave me something to think about” and “I’ll never be the same” were just some of the comments. And the prayer partner time…WOW!! Talk about BreakThroughs!!

During our Sunday morning service I taught session #6 to the congregation & their reaction was the same as mine when I first heard it. “I now have a new spiritual family line that goes all the way back to Abraham to Jesus, through me and now down to my kids! I get to be the very first one to break the chains!!”

Thanks so much to P. Jeff for the teachings, all of our participants, prayer partners & to my wonderful wife Francie for putting it all together! Can’t wait for the next SBT in October!

BPC 1 Year Anniversary!

Yesterday BridgePoint Church celebrated 1 Year of Connecting Real People to the Real God in Tarentum & the Allegheny Valley! Almost 100 people helped celebrate this milestone in the life of our church.

The service included "hot" music by the incredible BPC worship band (thanks Francie for bringing it all together-I love you!), drama by the MCM Pgh Ministry school students (Awesome job guys!), video that included a congratulations by P. Jeff (thanks to P. Jeff, the Board & congregation of APC for believing in the mission & vision of BPC, we love being a part of the MCM Pgh network of churches!) live stories from Real People who've Connected with God (Debbie & Karen - thanks for telling your life changing stories!), giveaways, and inspiring message (thanks to my friend P. Pat for the encouraging words!) and a massive luncheon following the service. (thanks to everyone who brought something to share!)

I thank God for all He's done through BPC over the last year! I've declared 2009 the year of belief & faith for BPC...as we stand on the edge of our future...belief that God will continue to help us Connect Real People to Him & faith to see all He's promised us accomplished through the power of His Spirit!
