An Exciting March 2010 @ BPC!

So many exciting things will be happening at BPC in the month of March as we fast approach Easter 2010 so, here's what's up!!

I'll begin a new message series entitled; "The 4 Pillars of the Church". Since our current location has "4 Pillars" in the front I thought this would be a great title for a series.

The Spiritual Breakthrough Event weekend. We host this event twice a year, in March & October. In November of 2010 we'll be receiving our very first group of members & going through the SBT weekend will be a membership requirement. If you want to become a member @ BPC but can't make the SBT in March you can catch again in October!

The BPC annual Easter Bash & Egg Hunt with carnival games, candy & give aways is one of the highlights of the month. We didn't forget the adults either; we'll be giving away a $50 gift card to The Olive Garden just in time for Easter.

On Palm Sunday we'll celebrate our 2 year anniversary as a church with live music, multi media & an encouraging message. After the service join us for Cake & Ice Cream!

Like I said; March 2010 is going to be an exciting month at BridgePoint Church!!

We'll See You All Back in the Burgh

Well, it's Tuesday evening & Francie just uploaded to her facebook page pics from Key West & Ft. Lauderdale. A half of a day tomorrow by the pool & then we fly out late afternoon from sunny Florida to snowy Pittsburgh. It has been a great 10 days celebrating 25 years together! On Valentine's Day I took Francie to her favorite restaurant here in Ft. Lauderdale, Season's 52.
We've had a great time but now...it's time to go home...and that is where our hearts are with our families & friends.

BTW; P. Chris & Kate really enjoyed being with all of you BPCers. Thanks so much to them & Jim B for leading the service on Valentine's Day!

Francie & I are so looking forward to being back with all of you this Sunday morning as we continue our "Radical Relationships" message series. It's going to be a great service filled with inspiring worship & I'm really excited to be team preaching with the most wonderful & stunning wife in the world...Francie! Also, we'll be having lunch following the service so, ladies please bring your "blue ribbon" dish to share with 6-8 people & guys please bring 1 or 2 bottles of pop. Remember; if you are not able to bring something please, please, please come anyway because we always have enough to go around!

It's time for me to say, so long for now. Francie & I are heading out for one last ice cream cone before we call it a night. Stay warm & we'll see you all back in the Burgh.

Blessings from South Florida

As you know, Francie & I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in South Florida and we've been having a great time together. We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale Sunday night & on Wednesday we drove down to Key West. As I type this blog, we're back in Ft. Lauderdale. On Sunday we'll celebrate Valentine's Day here in the warm sun.

Speaking of Sunday, our good friends Pastor Chris & Kate Griffin will be at BPC ready to lead in worship & preach an inspiring message concerning our "Radical Relationship" with God. You guys will remember them as our partners for Cityreach over the last 2 summers. Although we won't be there, we'll be with you in spirit! Don't let the snow cause you to miss out because the service is going to be great!

Well, it's time for me to get back to my bride. I must say I don't really fancy returning to all that snow in PGH but I am really looking forward to coming back home & being with all of you BPCers! We love you guys & we'll see you next Sunday morning when Francie & I will be team preaching the 3rd message in our "Radical Relationships" series.

Blessings from South Florida!

Celebrating 25 Years

On Saturday April 14 1984 Francie said "I Do" & I am so glad & blessed that she did!

For the next 10 days my bride & I will be celebrating 25 years of wedded bliss in sunny South Florida. I know what you're thinking, "You guys could not have pick a better time to get out of Pittsburgh with all the snow we had." 8 days in Fort Lauderdale on the beach & two days in Key West. I really can't wait to drive down through the Keys!

We were going to do something special in April but Alexandra was back home for a friends wedding & I was flat on my back for 4 days with vertigo. I know, not fun! Since we could'nt get away then I thought to myself, "We'll go away to celebrate before the year is out over Valentine's Day", which is next Sunday. I can hear all the ladies now..."ahhh that is soo sweet." And Francie will be getting roses but let's keep that a secret until Valentines Day, O.K.?

Well, it's almost time to board the plane so let me say, Francie, thanks so much for saying "I Do" way back then! I love you so much & I can't wait to see where we'll go for our 50th!!
P.S; Don't call us, we'll call you! LOL

BPC 10am service CANCELLED for Sunday February 7

BPC's 10am service for this morning, Sunday February 7 is CANCELLED!
Due the major amount of snow we recieved from the storm Friday night into Saturday (where I live we got over 22"), the current weather conditions (man was it cold last night) & the amount of snow that's on the roads and sidewalks (although I believe the main roads are clear-the neighborhood streets & sidewalks are still a mess with snow piled up high from people digging themselves out including their cars), the service is cancelled for this morning.

Stay safe, stay warm and please be careful!

God Bless

BPC in February; the month of Love & Radical Relationships

During February at BridgePoint church we’ll be focusing on “Radical Relationships”.

This week we’re kicking off our Life Groups. What’s a Life Group you ask? BPC LG’s are groups of 6-10 people who meet regularly at the church or in homes for food, fun & a time of study in the Word of God. February through May we’re offering LG’s for Men, Women, Teens and every Wednesday night at 7pm at the church an adult study entitled “Knowing Jesus Christ as Lord.” Great for those who been Christ followers for some time as well as those who’ve just begun the journey with Jesus. Jump into a LG any time & check out www.bridgepointchurch.cc for all the BPC Life Group “skinny”.

This Sunday at 10am we’re beginning a new series of talks entitled, you guessed it…”Radical Relationships.”

Our first message will focus on “Big Capital I” which can transition into potentially unmet Expectations in relationships. Wow, that can be rough terrain! I’m really excited about this talk because the beautiful, wonderfully talented love of my life FRANCIE will be speaking with me! Francie’s not only a gifted musician, having studied classical piano since the age of 7 & has a bachelor’s degree in Music from Duquesne University, she is also a gifted speaker. I mean, after 25 years of being married to me I think she may know a little something about relationships!!

On Valentine’s Day at 10am our special speaker will be Pastor Chris Griffin from our MCM network “Mother” church Allison Park church. Chris is the men’s & prayer ministry pastor & all you BPCers should know Chris & his wife Kate as partners to BPC during our Cityreach event the past 2 summers. Pastor Chris will be preaching on our relationship with God & how we can take that from being ordinary to radical…in a good way!

I think I’ll just encourage you to check out BridgePoint church for yourself in February to find out what the 3rd and 4th talks in this message series will be.

So Real People, get Radically Connected to the Real God & others at BPC during February…the month of LOVE!
